We are students, faculty, and researchers from the Soft Materials Laboratory at IIT Kanpur, united by the belief that laboratory innovations must reach the larger society to create a real world impact. Operating through our incubated venture, GitiTech Private Limited, we specialize in Bio-mimetic Engineering learning from nature’s designs to solve complex human challenges. Our work spans the entire spectrum from fundamental research to product development, ensuring that our scientific breakthroughs translate into sustainable, wealth-creating solutions for a greener planet.
Our primary focus is the development of state of the art thermal insulation sheets, a flagship innovation designed to significantly reduce indoor and surface temperatures. Available in a wide variety of specifications, these energy efficient solutions help arrest global warming by lowering cooling demands and reducing carbon footprints. By replacing expensive imports with these indigenous, high performance materials, we aim to make sustainable living accessible reducing costs for educational institutions and industries alike while fostering a future free from environmental pollution.
FOUNDER'S MESSAGE
At Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, research has always been driven by a single purpose — to create knowledge that solves real-world problems. However, true impact happens only when innovations move beyond laboratories and reach people’s everyday lives.
With this vision, we began developing indigenous thermal insulation technology that could address a very practical challenge faced in Indian climates — managing heat efficiently and sustainably. What started as research in the laboratory has now evolved into a solution that can be applied across homes, commercial spaces, and industrial environments.
Our thermal insulation sheets are designed to be accessible, efficient, and adaptable, whether they are used on water tanks, rooftops, or false ceilings. The goal has always been simple: create a technology that improves thermal comfort while reducing energy consumption.
Through this initiative, we hope to demonstrate that science from India’s laboratories can translate into scalable, real-world solutions that benefit society at large.
